Graduates of the Institute of Global Digital and Sustainable Finance at National Sun Yat-sen University must comply with the "Degree Examination Regulations of the Institute of Global Digital and Sustainable Finance within the School of Banking and Finance" at National Sun Yat-sen University. Students are required to complete 30 credits, including the prescribed credits for the Digital Finance Microprogram and the Sustainable Finance Microprogram, as well as the relevant compulsory courses, before they can apply for their graduation degree. The Digital Finance Microprogram requires the completion of 3 compulsory courses plus 1 elective course (11 credits) as listed in the course table for the Digital Finance Microprogram. Similarly, the Sustainable Finance Microprogram requires the completion of 3 compulsory courses plus 1 elective course (11 credits) as listed in the course table for the Sustainable Finance Microprogram. The "Innovative Business Model Implementation" course, which spans two academic years, is a compulsory course for the institute (4 credits). Students may also choose to take relevant courses offered by the Institute of International Asset Management.
Instead of a conventional master's thesis, students must submit a professional practice report as their degree thesis and pass the degree examination to graduate. The professional practice report, emphasizing theoretical innovation and practical application value, aims to address the digital and sustainable financial business innovation needs or solve innovative business model issues faced by the industry and financial institutions. Partner companies may further specify topics for students' practical projects. Through the guidance of both industry mentors and academic supervisors, this dual mentorship approach not only directs students' professional practice research but also addresses relevant problems in the financial sector/business, achieving a collaborative learning and creation among industry, government, academia, and research institutions. The recognition criteria for the professional practice report or technical report on corporate project research must be approved by the institute's council and management committee and submitted to the supervisory committee for record. The university requires students to pass the academic ethics course requirement before applying for the degree examination, which also applies to students of the research college. Both the draft and final versions of the professional practice report must be reviewed through the thesis comparison system and managed by the supervising professor to ensure the quality of the degree thesis.
